during terms speaker, gregg implemented improvements in house procedures, including on-time convening of sessions, support of bipartisan clerk s office, staffing parity both caucuses, , prohibition of smoking within interior hallways , offices surrounding house chamber. gregg introduced measures streamline workload of legislators , staff, including reducing number of standing committees 21 17 , initiating stricter adherence house rules regarding how members vote , conduct on house floor.
