in 17th century moravia, today s oldest theatre building in central europe founded - reduta theatre. in 1740, moravia invaded prussian forces under frederick great, , olomouc forced surrender on 27 december 1741. few months later prussians repelled, because of unsuccessful siege of brno in 1742. in 1758, olomouc besieged prussians again time, defenders of olomouc forced prussians withdraw following battle of domstadtl. in 1777, new moravian bishopric established in brno, , olomouc bishopric raised archbishopric. in 1782, margaviate of moravia merged austrian silesia moravia-silesia, brno capital city. lasted until 1850.
