corrigan married joanna woodlock, daughter of wealthy merchant, , sister of bishop dr. bartholomew woodlock, in 1827. had 6 children, 3 girls , 3 boys. corrigan s eldest son, captain john joseph corrigan, dragoon guards, died on 6 january 1866 aged 35 years , interred @ melbourne general cemetery, melbourne, australia. grandson succeeded him baronetcy. corrigan died @ merrion square, dublin, on 1 february 1880, having suffered stroke previous december, , buried in crypt of st. andrews church on westland row, dublin.
