sports
athletics

in athletics events, cp4 competitors participate in t34/f34 classes. in cases, cp4 athletes may classified f54, f55 or f56. events may on program cp4 competitors include club, discus throw, shot put , javelin. while may able walk assistance, competitors throw fixed seated position.


cycling

cp4 sportspeople eligible compete in cycling @ elite level , paralympic games. cp1 cp4 competitors may compete using tricycles in t1 class. tricycles eligible compete in road events, not track ones. tricycles required because cyclists @ left have balance effected cerebral palsy , unable use standard bicycle. cp4 cyclists required wear helmet, special color used designate class. cp4 class competitors wear white helmet.


skiing

cp4 athletes eligible compete in skiing competitions @ elite level , paralympic games. cp4 nordic skiers compete in lw10, lw11 , lw12. cp4 alpine skiers compete in lw10, lw11 or lw12.


slalom

one of available sports cp4 competitors slalom. slalom involves obstacle course people using carts. cp4 competitors use self-propelled carts navigate course.


swimming

people cerebral palsy eligible compete in swimming @ paralympic games. cp4 swimmers may found in several classes. these include s4, , s5.


cp4 swimmers tend have passive normalized drag in range of 0.7 0.9. puts them passive drag band of pdb6. because of balance issues, swimmers in class can find starting block problematic , have slower times entering water other competitors in class. because disability of swimmers in class involves in loss of function in specific parts of body, more prone injury able-bodied counterparts result of overcompensation in other parts of body. when fatigued, asymmetry in stroke becomes problem swimmers in class.


other sports

people cerebral palsy eligible compete @ elite level in number of other sports including wheelchair tennis, wheelchair fencing, wheelchair curling, wheelchair basketball, table tennis, sledge hockey, shooting, sailing, rowing, powerlifting, para-equestrian, , archery. race running sport open cp4 competitors. classified rr3.
