several clusters of thunderstorms developed during morning eastern nebraska across iowa illinois, taking place along warm front. front remained on same areas during day, daytime heating , southwesterly surface winds brought warm , unstable air northward, resulting in severe weather development. presence of strong winds aloft aided in development of multiple clusters , lines of thunderstorms produced damaging wind, hail , tornadoes across missouri, illinois , indiana.


a moderate risk of severe weather issued storm prediction center parts of indiana, kentucky, illinois, ohio , west virginia on june 3, 2 particular tornadoes, rated ef2 and ef3 on enhanced fujita scale, caused extensive damage across portions of central indiana. ef3 tornado damaged 34 structures in rush county, of 27 of them in middletown. 8 people injured in rush county, including 67-year-old woman impaled in chest large tree limb , later died result of injury on august 17. 19th century landmark covered bridge in moscow destroyed, severe damage dozens of homes, including swept off foundation. ef2 tornado damaged 20 to 30 homes in brown county, 40 buildings @ camp atterbury in johnson county , 59 buildings in edinburgh.
