gora prai incident

on 10 june 2008, 10 pakistani paramilitary troops frontier corps , pakistan army major, killed airstrike in pakistani tribal areas. airstrike occurred following clashes between taliban fighters , afghan troops. afghan troops ordered airstrike against taliban which, according us, accidentally hit pakistani post.


standoff of september 15, 2008

ch-47 chinook helicopters have been used pakistan army since 1998 troops , across border between afghanistan , south waziristan


pakistani troops fired warning shots air deter afghan troops entering pakistan. occurred on afghan side of afghanistan-pakistan border close angoor ada, 30 kilometers wana, main town in south waziristan in federally administered tribal areas of pakistan.


seven helicopter gunships , 2 troop-carrying chinook helicopters landed on afghan side of border, in afghan province of paktika, troops tried cross border pakistan. did so, pakistani paramilitary soldiers @ checkpoint began firing warning shots air , troops decided not continue forward. firing reportedly lasted several hours. local tribesmen evacuated homes , took defensive positions in mountains after placing women , children out of harm s way.


the standoff occurred less 2 weeks after 3 september 2008 angoor ada raid, during u.s. special forces conducted raid inside pakistani territory. incident caused consternation , protests in pakistan, on violation of pakistan s sovereignty.

two ah-64 apache helicopters intercepted on pakistani territory


on 21 september 2008 @ 10 pm local time, in ghulam khan district of north waziristan pakistani soldiers fired on 2 american helicopter gunships, entered pakistani airspace, 12.7 mm heavy machine guns. helicopters stopped , hovered while, before returning on border afghanistan without retaliation. unknown if of helicopters sustained damage in first incident.


thirty minutes later, 2 gunships attempted cross border again @ same place. pakistani regular , frontier corps troops fired warning shots air , away helicopters, causing helicopters turn without attacking targets in pakistan.


tanai incident

on 25 september 2008 pakistani troops fired on 2 american oh-58 kiowa reconnaissance helicopters; u.s. ground troops, helicopters supporting, returned fire. no 1 injured on either side , helicopters undamaged. american , nato officials asserted helicopters flying within afghan territory protect armed patrol. pakistani officials declared helicopters inside pakistani territory , fired upon flares warning.


kurram incident

on 30 september 2010. u.s. helicopters entered pakistani airspace after ground troops determined mortar attack militants in pakistan imminent, according coalition. pakistani frontier corps troops manning mandata kadaho border post fired warning shots, , helicopters responded firing 2 missiles destroyed post. 3 soldiers killed , 3 wounded. pakistan responded closing key nato supply route eleven days.


datta khel incident

on may 17, 2011, skirmish between u.s. helicopter , pakistani forces took place in datta khel area. according nato, american base along afghanistan-pakistan border took direct , indirect fire pakistan. 2 u.s. helicopters flew area. according pakistani military, helicopters had breached airspace. pakistani forces fired @ helicopter twice, , helicopter returned fire, injuring 2 soldiers. pakistan reportedly deployed 2 attack helicopters, arrived after u.s. helicopters had left.


salala incident





on 26 november 2011, 28 pakistani soldiers, including 2 officers, killed , remainder injured in attack on 2 pakistani border posts in mohmand tribal region nato apache helicopters, ac-130 gunship , fighter jets. there total of 40 soldiers present in check post , raid took place @ night while of them sleeping or resting. attack deadliest strike date on pakistani soil nato. pakistan claimed there no militant activity along afghan border region when nato conducted attack. pakistan suspended nato supplies afghanistan in aftermath of attack. pakistan later ordered u.s. shut down operations , vacate shamsi airfield in balochistan, u.s. reportedly uses launching drone attacks in pakistan, within time frame of 15 days.


the retired brigadier mahmood shah, former chief of security in tribal areas, said far u.s. has blamed pakistan happening in afghanistan , pakistan s point of view has not been shown in international media, matter should taken united nations security council. has advised pakistani authorities shoot down nato aircraft should similar event take place in future, , keep supply lines closed, on argument u.s. cannot afford war pakistan.
