pop punk (also known punk pop , other names) fusion genre combines elements of punk rock pop music, varying degrees. not clear when term pop punk first used, pop-influenced punk rock had been around since mid- late-1970s. examples of commercially successful pop punk bands include green day, offspring, blink-182, sum 41 , simple plan.
