in 1992 mccoll bought 29.9% of family-owned engineering company clyde blowers plc £1million, losing money on turnover of £4million, had full listing on london stock exchange. after taking private company , increasing holding 70% in 2001, on following 5 years clyde blowers bought 6 of 8 major competitors, , have 55% global market share of original core business. in may 2007, clyde blowers bought weir pumps weir group plc, same company mccoll started career at. in september 2008, mccoll led team enabled clyde blowers acquire entire fluid & power division of fortune 500 multi-industry company textron, in deal worth on $1 billion. clyde blowers presently consists of 85 companies in 27 different countries, employing 5,000 people around world, annual turnover in excess of £1.35 billion.
