the black hawk war of 1867 between settlers , local indians left glenwood deserted 1 year, later resettled in 1868 after peace resumed.


glenwood excellent site settlement, owing fresh springs naturally bubbled hills east of town. springs still feed glenwood s culinary water supply, , supply water state of utah fish hatchery southeast of town. gristmill built in glenwood became first of kind in county.


a zcmi co-operative building built on intersection of main , center streets in 1878. several years largest building in county. families moved out of glenwood, isaac washington pierce jr., resident of glenwood, bought out shares in store , ran store privately owned business many years.(). still stands main historical landmark in town, although abandoned.
