the girls category mentored nicole scherzinger. contestants in category female soloists aged between 16-24. 6 candidates @ judges houses were: abi alton, hannah barrett, relley c, tamera foster, melanie mccabe, , jade richards. scherzinger chose:

abi alton

abi alton (born 26 august 1994) worker in morrisons guisborough in teesside. studied @ laurence jackson school , @ prior pursglove college in hometown studied english language, geography, photography , music. has been playing piano since 8 , guitar since 15 , writes own songs.

alton sang travelin soldier in room audition , performed original composition called jigsaw @ arena. sang wanna dance (who loves me) @ bootcamp , , happen @ judges houses.

on 20 october 2013, alton suffered injury led being taken hospital, later discharged without permanent damage. eliminated in week 5 after being voted bottom 2 hannah barrett. barlow , osbourne voted eliminate her, scherzinger refusing vote, seeing both girls in category.

after taking part in x factor, abi went on write , independently release debut music video in may 2015 , subsequent ep souvenirs in august 2015, reached number 10 in itunes singer-songwriter charts.

hannah barrett (born 30 april 1996, aged 20) 20-year-old student south norwood , works part time @ greggs bakery. introduced music father, died when nine.

barrett sang read it, pt. iii in room audition , 1 night @ arena audition. performed d rather go blind @ bootcamp , change gonna come , fighter @ judges houses.

in week 3, barrett in bottom 2 miss dynamix , saved after barlow opted send home. in week 5, in bottom 2 again, time abi alton. scherzinger refused vote both acts in category, left majority vote. barlow , osbourne both chose send alton home, , barrett saved (walsh said have sent alton home well). again in bottom 2 third time in week 7 rough copy. rough copy saved after scherzinger voted send through quarter-final, finishing in sixth place. voting statistics confirmed barrett received more votes rough copy meaning if osbourne or walsh voted send barrett through quarter-final or if vote went deadlock, barrett ve been sent through quarter-final , rough copy ve been eliminated.

tamera foster

tamera foster (born 28 january 1997, aged 20) student gravesend in kent. auditioned part of duo silver rock woman called jerrie bafundila, better known jerrie dila, whom met days before audition, judges split them solo artists after rejecting them duo. @ arena, bafundila failed reach bootcamp, and, after forgetting 1 line whilst singing have nothing , ran off stage ask was, foster did well. however, sang again , got through. @ bootcamp sang stay , @ judges houses sang fallin , no more drama (in front of original artist mary j. blige, scherzinger s assistant).

on 20 january 2014, reported foster had signed record deal sony music. on 15 march, confirmed had been signed simon cowell s record label syco music.
