some of largest mosques include muğdat mosque, built in name of companion of islamic prophet, muhammad, miqdad ibn aswad, , central mersin grand mosque. old mosque built sultan abdul aziz in 1865 next foundation (vakıf).


the mersin interfaith cemetery, called tolerance, renowned being common cemetery of religions. includes graves of muslims, christians , jews.


the city hosts roman catholic co-cathedral of st. anthony of padua.


in order swim in clean water need out of town, perhaps hour along coast. beaches @ kızkalesi, ayaş, susanoğlu (app. 50–70 km west) popular families while young people prefer akyar, yapraklı koy, narlıkuyu or quieter bays along coast, of attractive indeed.
