ultraviolet (uv) disinfection technology has been common water treatment technology in past 2 decades due ability provide disinfected water without use of harmful chemicals. uv-c portion represents wavelengths 200 nm - 280 nm used disinfection. uv-c photons penetrate cells , damage nucleic acid, rendering them incapable of reproduction, or microbiologically inactive.
