when coronado center first opened in 1965, mall s original anchor tenants included sears ( reducing store size in half 2016 ) , rhodes brothers. in 1974, rhodes brothers re-branded liberty house. in mall s 1975-1976 expansion, 2 new anchor stores (goldwater s , broadway) added, , in 1984 fifth anchor store (sanger-harris) added. goldwater s closed in 1986, later reopened may d&f in 1989. sanger-harris re-branded foley s in 1987, in 1988, foley s closed location. in late 1980s, liberty house closed , replaced mervyn s shortly afterward.


in 1990, jcpenney opened @ former sanger-harris/foley s store area. may d&f re-branded foley s in 1993, signifying foley s return mall. broadway re-branded macy s in 1996.


in 2006, foley s rebranded macy s, , macy s vacated former broadway store area, has been taken on gordmans upstairs , dick s sporting goods downstairs. mervyn s closed stores due bankruptcy in 2008, , store area remodeled kohl s, opened in 2010.


in 2014, parts of mall remodeled in recognition of 50th anniversary of mall , opening of h&m store.
