ibraimi born in tetovo, sr macedonia, sfr yugoslavia, albanian parents. while growing in tetovo, agim joined shkendija youth team , broke through senior squad @ age of 17.

shkendija , red bull salzburg

ibraimi debuted shkendija 79 in 2005 , crucial member of team. made forty 9 appearances , scored 3 goals, helping shkendija reach fifth place in prva liga. making significant impact on club @ such young age, agim picked red bull salzburg , moved abroad.

ibraimi terminated contract olimpija in summer of 2010 , signed three-year deal turkish team eskişehirspor on 3 september 2010. made debut eskisehirspor on 25 september 2010 when came off bench in 77th minute, team lost 1–0. ibraimi failed adjust turkish league , club agreed mutually terminate contract , ibraimi joined nafta lendava during 2011 january transfer window.

maribor

on 10 june 2011, announced ibraimi has signed three-year contract slovenian club maribor. made debut maribor against dudelange in qualifying rounds of champions league scored first goal , assist club. ibraimi has been regular starter maribor , has been having tremendous season in slovenian prvaliga. despite not qualifying past third round of qualifications, maribor had chance in play offs uefa europa league against scottish club, rangers. ibraimi helped maribor reach group stages of europa league after scoring goal inside box in first leg. despite maribor getting last place in group, ibraimi scored against portugal club, sc braga, in match of group stage maribor secured point. in may 2012, ibraimi signed new contract club until may 2015. in same month, scored directly corner kick in 8–0 win against triglav kranj , won league title maribor. in december 2012, won macedonian footballer of year award. voted 1 of best midfield players in 2012–13 slovenian prvaliga alongside teammate goran cvijanović , nik omladič. selected overall best player in 2012–13 prvaliga season.
