clonmel junction festival established in 2001 defunct galloglass theatre company. featured 4 theatre shows, 1 comedy performance , small number of traditional music performances in local pubs. highlight of event being cracked quare hawks theatre company.


in 2002, festival expanded format include rock music featuring damien rice , kíla. participation programme introduced year. programme involved local school children creating street art put on display duration of festival. has since become annual program engages on 300 children every year.


2003 featured premiere of des dillon s teac bloc. last year festival run galloglass theatre company.


independence

2004 saw clonmel junction festival became independent organisation run board of directors. success of festival lead expansion in 2005, increasing six-day event nine-day event.


2006 saw festival bring nofit state circus clonmel 5 sell-out shows. part of year festival, there celebration of newly established polish community within clonmel, in mini polish festival.


the 10th clonmel junction festival took place in 2010,the focus of event shifted circus. festival featured circus acts ireland , abroad, including fossett s circus , les parfaits inconnus. music line included cathy davey, republic of loose , mick flannery. featured premiere of me seeing 2, iseli chiodi dance company commissioned festival, south tipperary arts office , excel centre.
