a sourdough bread wedge co-op in minneapolis.


the wedge formed in 1974 in basement apartment on franklin avenue in minneapolis. formed after group of neighbors met summer organize cooperative store provide whole , natural foods, preferably in bulk quantities save money. in 1979, wedge moved lyndale avenue. wedge had member labor program in place until 1992, when built new store in lot adjacent store. addition doubled retail space built in 1997.


the wedge first certified organic grocery store in minnesota.


in 2015, wedge became first consumer co-op in twin cities metro area unionize.


in 2016 members voted consolidate linden hills co-op, forming twin cities co-op partnership (tccp). combined entity had 25,000 members , employed on 500 employees.
