As a Sadhu Gunatitanand Swami

at dabhan yagna in 1810, bhagwan swaminarayan ordained mulji sharma gunatitanand swami , declared him akshardham, divine abode.

by 1809, mulji had been in contact swaminarayan many years yet goal of becoming sadhu still remained unfulfilled. mulji continued working on farm in hope initiated sadhu fold @ earliest. on 21 november 1809, mulji had vision swaminarayan wanted meet him. once while digging channels in sugar cane fields had vision of swaminarayan. swaminarayan asked him, have come , , doing? asking him visit gadhada mulji left gadhada , learnt of swaminarayan’s desire initiate him sadhu. on 20 january 1810, @ grand yagna in village of dabhan, swaminarayan initiated mulji sadhu , named him gunatitanand swami. on occasion, swaminarayan again publicly confirmed gunatitanand swami incarnation of akshar, declaring, “today, extremely happy initiate mulji sharma. divine abode – akshardham, infinite , endless.”

over next few years, gunatitanand swami continued serving under swaminarayan , became core member of 500 paramhansas, group of sadhus respected spiritual enlightenment , renunciation of worldly pleasures. further gained renown preacher , summary of teachings later published under title swamini vato. 1 of legacies famous temple @ junagadh. played prominent role in construction, served mahant forty years , provided template administrative development of future religious establishments in swaminarayan sampraday.

gunatitanand swami had central role in propagating tenets of akshar purushottam upasana, included identification of swaminarayan purushottam firstly through various discourses , spiritual teachings , secondly through identification of bhagatji maharaj next personal form of akshar.
