while playing rowdies, quraishi served team’s director of youth development. in capacity got first taste of managing , developing team’s infrastructure. while players natural focus of sport, these players supported owners, executives, managers, salesmen, etc. quraishi gained valuable exposure side of soccer @ point in career , served him rest of life. part of duties in community relations, quraishi developed soccer leagues , soccer camps throughout tampa bay area. when returned tampa, caspers company, mcdonald’s franchisee, hired him director of public relations. part of duties, placed mcdonald’s name , logo public’s awareness through charity , youth events. among these establishment of mcdonald s sun bowl international youth soccer tournament. remained company until 1992 when re-entered soccer world full-time orlando, florida’s venue executive director 1994 fifa world cup.

tampa bay mutiny

after world cup, quraishi became involved in establishment of major league soccer (mls). mls began developing prior first season in 1996, quraishi became part of process of bringing franchise tampa bay. when mls created tampa bay mutiny, hired quraishi team’s president , general manager. despite successful inaugural season, mutiny, 1 of 3 teams directly owned league, had 1 of lowest average attendances in mls. despite winning supporter s shield having best regular season record in mls, winning eastern conference regular season title, producing league mvp (carlos valderrama), scoring champion (roy lassiter), rookie of year (steve ralston), coach of year (thomas rongen) , 6 players named mls all-star team, quraishi fired mls commissioner doug logan. reasons given quraishi s firing poor attendance , fact team s director of finance, mark fortunat, charged embezzling money club. 1 of 3 teams directly owned league (the others san jose , dallas), team s director of finance reported directly finance department @ mls headquarters in los angeles. quraishi not implicated in fortunat incident , in fact instrumental in fortunat being convicted of charges when mls decided drop matter. result of quraishi s firing, thomas rongen, team’s head coach, resigned , moved new england revolution.

despite disappointment, quraishi did not leave soccer management, became professional sports consultant 2 years before moving massachusetts in 1998 join massachusetts professional soccer served executive vice president , chief operating officer, overseeing management of boston bulldogs, cape cod crusaders , boston renegades.. quraishi worked soccer broadcast announcer , worked master coach international, match , player video analysis company developed proprietary software. in 2004, appointed usl owners advisory council.

tampa bay rowdies

on november 18, 2014, quraishi named president , general manager of tampa bay rowdies.

the rowdies fired farrukh quraishi august 21, 2015.
