history

1992–1994

forgotten sunrise formed in summer 1992 result of common interest of anders melts , jan talts make death metal in estonia. 2 friends previous experiences, margus gustavson , tarvo valm, joined yet unnamed band. after 6 months , having first songs, in 1993 quality demo “behind abysmal sky” recorded. few months later contract finnish label, rising realm records, signed , end of year “forever sleeping greystones” mini-cd had been recorded. minialbum released @ end of 1994. band attracted great deal of attention , played concerts until differences caused drummer , guitarist leave band.


1996–1999

with renno süvaoja , tiiu kiik joining group, computers part of process of making music. in meantime band s style had progressed and, in 1996, forgotten sunrise basiacally started beginning. period of studies , experimenting followed until forgotten sunrise again ready stage.


in 1997, appeared new sound. though old atmospheric death metal mixed trip hop, techno, folk , drum n bass merged shoegaze , indie-pop, dreary grim atmosphere , severe message still intact. style group called deathbeat, first promotional cd out in 1999 , self-released mini-album “a.nimal f.lesh in 2000.


2003–2008

forgotten sunrise signed 2 album contract italian label, kingdom music. first album, ru:mipu:dus, released in january 2004 , before full-length single “ple:se disco-nnect me” given out. album received positive reviews. in 2005, track “never(k)now” given out promotional single.


the second album, willand, recorded in fall 2005 , released in spring 2007.


in 2006, gerty villo joined band keyboards , female vocals. in 2007, pavel torpan joined guitars , different knots of ropelove, 12 track remix cd (including remixes alec empire, pehr herb, darkmen etc.), released.


2009

a full-length cd-single, moments when god wrong , self-released , demo tape behind abysmal sky mini-cd forever sleeping greystones 7 live bonus tracks re-released on cd.


2010

ragnar kivi joined band electronic drums.
