regular officers

the ncc directorates headed service officers of rank of major general , equivalent; group headquarters headed service officers of rank of colonel , equivalent, , units headed service officers of rank of colonel(ts)/lieutenant colonel/major or equivalent. responsible proper training, planning , execution of ncc activities.

whole time lady officers

a cadre of whole time lady officers (wtlo) cadre strength 110 officers has been sanctioned in 1995. commissioned partly through departmental channel , partly through upsc in phased manner.

associate ncc officer

ano important link in ncc organization between bn , cadets. amatter of fact, ano feeder node of ncc since / 1 in direct contact cadets throughout year. there 2 training establishments namely officers training academy, kamptee , women officers training academy, gwalior. these 2 institutions train school , college teachers selected head company/troop. courses in these institutions range 21 days 90 days in duration.

uniform

ncc dress out

army cadets wear khaki uniform. naval cadets wear white uniform of navy. air force cadets wear light blue grey (lbg) uniform. uniform compulsory on occasions.

cadets sd boys army wing wear khaki full sleeve shirt , trousers & cadets jd wear khaki shirt & khaki shorts. girl cadets sw & jw both wear khaki full sleeve shirt , trousers. cadets sd boys naval wing wear white half sleeve shirt , white trousers & jd boys wear half sleeve white shirt , white shorts. girls naval wing sw & jw wear white half sleeve shirt , trousers. cadets sd boys air wing wear light blue half sleeve shirts , trousers & jd cadets wear light blue half sleeve shirts , trousers. girls sw , jw wear light blue half sleeve shirts , trouser.

in addition these sw & jw cadets wear white salwar , kamiz during activities other parade. rifle green beret compulsory cadets except sikh cadets wear rifle green turban. physical training cadets wear brown canvas shoes , drills black leather shoes called d.m.s (drill march shoes). woolen vests compulsory in cold areas colour varies khaki army, dark blue navy, , black air. (even ncc cadets wear indian army uniforms sometimes.)

total training period sd , sw 3 years extension of 1 year permissible & training period jd & jw of 2 years. every cadet of senior or junior division has undergo service training period of @ least 4 hours per week during training year. however, no training carried out during periods when college or school through cadet enrolled closed vacation. every cadet of senior , junior division has undergo service training minimum period of 75% of total hours during annual college , school session. every cadet (in case of jd, has completed 1 full year of training , in second year) attends annual training camp of 9–10 days, known national combined annual training camp. sd/sw duration 30 days. @ end of camp training cadets receive certificate of successful completion.

there 3 certificates in ncc. below describes lower value higher value:-

certificate - a : can written jd/ jw cadets of ncc, cadets of class 8 & 9. after passing classes can t obtained. candidate must have attended minimum 75% of total training periods laid down in syllabus first & second years of jd/jw ncc(all wings). candidate must have attended 1 annual training camp.
certificate - b : can written sd / sw cadets of ncc, cadets after class 10 & studying +2, +3 (degree). in second year of training can appear same. candidate must have attended minimum 75% of total training periods laid down in syllabus first & second years of sd/sw ncc (all wings). he/she must have attended 1 annual training camp/nic. cadets possessing certificate awarded 10 bonuses marks. air wing cadet must minimum 10 glide launches.
certificate - c : important certificate ncc cadet. can written in 3 rd year of training, in 3rd year of degree course / having b certificate can write in first year after +2 , in 1st year of degree sd / sw cadets only. candidate must possessing b certificate. must have attended 2 atcs or 1 atc , in addition rd camp delhi, centrally organised camp, para training camp, attachment training service units, national integration camp, youth exchange programme, foreign cruise(navy).

grading in certificate

three certificates awarded (1) grade, (2) b grade, (3) c grade.

the best certificate c, has highest value. (i) cadet has obtain 45% marks in each paper & 50% marks in aggregate pass examination. grading based on total marks obtain awarded follows. (aa) grading - cadets obtaining 80% marks , above. (ab) grading b - cadets obtaining 65% marks , above below 80%. (ac) grading c - cadets obtaining 50% marks , above below 65%. (ad) fail - cadets obtaining less 45% in paper or less 50% in aggregate.
