under terms of treaty, kingdom of prussia received of territory including bohemian county of kladsko, while small part of southeastern silesia remained habsburg monarchy, consisting of:



the upper silesian duchy of teschen (cieszyn)
parts of former moravian duchy of opava duchy of krnov south of opava river, comprising several moravian enclaves.
the southern part of lower silesian duchy of nysa around jeseník

forming duchy of upper , lower silesia, remained bohemian crown land capital in city of opava. in 1766 title of duke of teschen granted prince albert of saxony, son-in-law of maria theresa, while title of duke of troppau , jägerndorf remained princely family of liechtenstein. nysa territory held bishops of wrocław residence @ castle jánský vrch (johannisberg).


when in 1804 habsurg emperor francis ii established austrian empire, title include duke of upper , lower silesia . austrian silesia connected rail austrian capital vienna, when emperor ferdinand northern railway line extended bohumín station in 1847. in course of austro-hungarian compromise of 1867 duchy of upper , lower silesia became crown land of cisleithanian austria.


in 1918, austrian monarchy abolished , major part of austrian silesia ceded newly created state of czechoslovakia 1919 treaty of saint-germain-en-laye, exception of cieszyn silesia (the former duchy of teschen), after polish–czechoslovak war split in 1920 along olza river eastern part falling autonomous silesian voivodeship of poland. smaller parts of duchy became part of poland, while adjacent hlučín region of prussian silesia fell czechoslovakia.
