the images of photojournalist james balog have received international acclaim, including heinz award, leica medal of excellence , premier awards both nature , science photography @ world press photo in amsterdam. exhibitions of images have been shown @ more 100 museums , galleries greece paris, new york los angeles. first photographer ever commissioned create series of stamps u.s. postal service; 1996 release featured america’s endangered wildlife. balog’s work has been published in numerous major magazines, including national geographic, new yorker, life, vanity fair, new york times magazine, audubon , outside. balog author of 7 books: wildlife requiem (1984), survivors: new vision of endangered wildlife (1990), anima (1993), james balog’s animals z (1996), animal (1999), tree: new vision of american forest (2004), , extreme ice now: vanishing glaciers , changing climate, progress report (2009). balog, sustainability ambassador north face, holds bachelor s degree in speech/communications boston college , master s degree in geomorphology university of colorado.

jason box – researcher @ ohio state university byrd polar research center , assistant professor of geography @ ohio state. since 1994, box has completed 21 expeditions greenland ice sheet. authority on relationship between greenland glaciers , earth’s climate, contributed 2007 intergovernmental panel on climate change summary report.
daniel b. fagre – ecologist , climate change research coordinator u.s. geological survey in glacier national park, montana. fagre has been doing repeat photography on dwindling ice masses of glacier national park 2 decades , author of 2007 book, sustaining rocky mountain landscapes: science, policy , management of crown of continent ecosystem.
tad pfeffer – researcher @ institute of arctic , alpine research , professor of civil, environmental , architectural engineering @ university of colorado @ boulder. pfeffer’s research includes studies of mechanics , dynamics of glaciers, , heat , mass transfer in snow. has worked on glaciers 30 years, including 2 decades of field work on alaska’s columbia glacier. pfeffer extensive work photography , photogrammetry of glaciers , landscapes, using imagery describe , analyze glacier changes. pfeffer’s photography has appeared in numerous scientific publications, american scientist , geo (germany) magazines, bbc television productions, special exhibitions , in both movie , book inconvenient truth, al gore.
conrad anker – mountaineer known work in antarctica , in himalaya, in locating body of george mallory on mt. everest in 1999.
