organization

the ncc headed director general rank of lieutenant-general. assisted 2 additional director generals (a , b) of two-star rank (major-general, rear-admiral or air vice-marshal). 5 brigadier level officers , other civil officials assist him. headquarters located in delhi. organisational structure continues follows:



directorate - there 17 directorates located in state capitals headed officer of rank of maj gen 3 services.
group - depending upon size of state , growth of ncc in states, directorates have 14 group headquarters under them through exercise command , control of organisation in state. each group headed officer of rank of brigadier or equivalent known group commander.
battalion- each ncc group headquarters control 5-7 units(bns) commanded colonel/lt.col or equivalent.
company - each battalion consists of companies commanded associate ncc officer(ano) of rank of lieutenant major.

in there 95 group headquarters in country exercise control on network of 667 army wing units(including technical , girls unit), 60 naval wing units , 61 air squadrons. there 2 training establishments namely officers training school, kamptee (nagpur, maharashtra) , women officers training school, gwalior.

strength

army: each battalion or unit of ncc consists of number of platoons or coy. senior division boys each platoon consists of 52 cadets , each coy consists 160 cadets. each bn has 4 7 coys each bn carries around 640 1120 cadets. senior wing girls bn consists of 2 7 coy means total of 320 1120 cadets. junior division boys , junior wing girls each troop has 100 cadets , each bn has @ least 1 troop.
navy: senior division boys each bn or unit consists of 4 8 divisions , each division consists of 50 cadets. senior wing girls similar arrangement exists of senior division boys. junior division boys , junior wing girls each bn has troop of 100 cadets.
air: senior division boys , senior wing girls each unit consists of @ least 2 fleets each consists of 100 cadets. each unit known squadron carries around 200 cadets. junior wing girls , junior division boys each squadron has troop consisted of 100 cadets.

however, each unit can have 24 troops of senior division boys expanding strength 2400 cadets maximum limit.
