rnib owns several educational establishments , residential care homes:


rnib sunshine house school , children s home

sunshine house specialist primary school, children s home , service families in northwood, middlesex. school educates blind , partially sighted children significant learning difficulties , disabilities between ages of 2 , 11 years. residential accommodation open children aged between 2 , 14 years blind or partially sighted significant learning difficulties , disabilities, whether attend school. children stay @ sunshine house overnight 4 nights per week, 50 weeks per year.


rnib pears centre specialist learning

rnib pears centre specialist learning (formerly rnib rushton school , children s home) established in 1957 , based near coventry, warwickshire. provides specialist education , individually tailored care , therapies children , young people complex needs blind or partially sighted, between ages of 4 , 19. children can live in residential accommodation onsite or attend on day basis.


in 2012, rnib completed redevelopment project of pears centre site new purpose-built facilities costing £30 million. new facility provides more places children in school , residential care home.


rnib community living service

rnib s community living service provides support, work experience, rehabilitation services , 52-week residential care , supported living young adults sight loss, multiple disabilities , complex needs, age of 18 40 years. centre based in redhill, surrey , consists of 13 self-contained flats , several shared houses.


rnib college loughborough

rnib college loughborough based in loughborough, leicestershire, , supports students sight loss , other disabilities. college provides further education programmes learners aged 16–25 , adult employment programmes adult learners aged 18–63 unemployed , looking develop skills or retrain , gain employment. college offers residential or day programmes.


residential care older people

rnib owns 3 residential homes older people blind, partially sighted or deafblind , require permanent or short-term accommodation. rnib s homes based in somerset (rnib kathleen chambers house), north yorkshire (rnib tate house) , east sussex (rnib wavertree house). homes contain special adaptations , equipment blind or partially sighted people including talking notice boards, talking lifts, braille embossers, magnifiers , libraries of large print, braille , audiobooks.
