lee worried loved ones in 1999 when suffered pulmonary embolism claimed life, love , support of family rallying around him, lee pulled through , being vital part of port charles. months, dv bordisso had made life living hell scott , lucy coe. turned out, dv claimed scott s biological father , wanted revenge on scott mother, meg, had done him before scott born! scott, lucy, kevin, eve , victor teamed beat dv @ own game , emerged victorious in end. dv, however, managed frame scott attempted murder, innocent scott beat charges. scott faced inner demons upon learning dv biological father, lee helped scott see no matter scott s biology, lee s son, , person.

lee , gail devastated july 2003 death of eldest granddaughter karen, when hit car. though lee , gail mourned death, took comfort in fact karen s blood helped save lucy s life. lila quartermaine quietly died in sleep on evening of tuesday, july 13, 2004, , lee , gail paid respects quartermaines @ funeral friday. sources of joy lee beloved wife gail , granddaughter, serena. highly respected in community, lee comes down on right side of law.
